We started the LIIN by rethinking the purpose of sustainable investing networks and how they operate. It seems to us that while impact, ESG and SDG-aligned networks have outgrown the whims in the investment industry, we still see that many networks operate like islands and focus on organisations exclusively. It is true that specialised impact-aligned networks are crucial to help investment firms to report their non-financial performance commitments and goals.
However, we also believe that many institutions are missing the most important element, which is the people and their interest to connect and be part of a community which translates principles, frameworks and ideas into practical work. In addition, we believe that no one should reinvent the wheel. As such, we would like to help other organisations to scale up and disseminate their good work and practice to a broader audience. With this in mind we created the LIIN.
We are about people and to empower them by helping individuals to connect, share and exchange their impact-aligned views and work
We think globally, and act locally by giving a voice to individuals and organisations to foster impact-aligned investments and best practices
We focus on turning abstract impact and SDG concepts into practical work that is translated into tools and applied studies for investment practitioners
We focus on amplifying what others do by helping individuals and organisations to scale-up their programmes and activities. Our goal is to work as catalyst for impact
